My daughters have their hair put in tight french plaitts by their nanny. My wife is worried that this is putting a strain on the roots of their hair and will lead to baldness in later life.Do french plaitts cause loss of hair in later life?
absolute Bollocks.Do french plaitts cause loss of hair in later life?
may be not only if she put the plaits too tight . use almond oil and coriander oil to make hair and brain both strong
i hope not!, that was the only way my mum used to do my hair... mayb thats why my hair has become thinner gradually over the years!
I'm a hairdresser in London!! french plating hair tight or having hair pinned back tight off the face is not prove to cause hair loss in later life but but could cause the hair to snap at present if done to tight or if the hair is fragile! recommended not to tie it to tight and have hair trimmed regularly to keep hair healthy
no actually it helps your hair to grow if you take care of it.
What your wife is refeing to is called ';traction alopecia';. If hair is pulled too tightly for a long period of time it will damage the hair and the hair follicle. I have enclosed a site for you to refer to. Hope that helps!
Yeah they are gonna be baldies.................... No I am kidding they will be fine, and as beautiful as ever,
drum_n_bass is absolutely right, it is called traction alopcea and as she said it's where hair is constantly pulled back over a long period of time and the roots become weak. If in doubt, talk to a trichologist (ie hair specialist) who will also tell you that this is what it is and be able to advise you.
if you do any pig tails or plaits too tight of course it can and it can cause receading hair lines
its called traction alopecia, when the hair has been tightened over a long period of time. afro-carribeans get it a lot becasue their hair is braided. just dont do it over a long period oif time
No it does'nt cause loss of hair
no not baldness!! I just had my hair braided with extensions whilst i was in spain i've took it out now and my real hair is alot thinner, but doubt she'll go bald from french plaitts!
I have never heard of this, ask a hairdresser.
could be .....you know why.....french plait does very tight u know..it cause baldness.....i thing
no they wont go bald.if the nanny is doing it properly it shouldn't do any damage at all.bad plaits can cause some breakage of the hair strands as can tight bobbles etc.but defiantly not bald chill out.
I think she is right to be concerned. By the same token, people who pull their hair back tight as in a pony tail tend to have hair loss around the hair line and the brow. Not to mention the real possibility of headaches!
