Hairloss & PCOS: What has helped you with your loss of hair?

I also dealt with hair loss and started having a receding hairline. That is partly because of the elevated testosterone in your system.

It is very important to get on Metformin. After I began my metformin treatment the hair loss greatly decreased! Now it is normal. I was on 1000mg per day for a few years and then I started noticing the hair loss increasing again and my dosage was increased to 1500 mg per day and the hair loss again stopped.

I don't understand why your Dr. won't put you on Metformin because you are TTC. It is very common to be on that med while TTC and safe during pregnancy.

Is your Dr. a specialist? IF not you may want to consider seeing one. Talk to your Dr. about the benefit of Metformin while TTC.Hairloss %26amp; PCOS: What has helped you with your loss of hair?
i was recently diagnosed with pcos and i am taking fortamet my doctor prescribed a water pill for me and said that was supposed to help get rid of the unwanted hair. since you have a high level of testosterone in your body only unwanted hair should be coming out. i do not think you should loose your hair on your head. how are you treating your pcos and how long have you had it?
