Two year old Brittany. We also have her mother who exhibited the same condition but not as severe when she was younger. We removed her nylon collar 2 months ago and replaced it with a nylon harness which doesn't contact her neck and has had no side affects. Some of her hair has returned, but she has bumps, like pimples without puss, that have not gotten better. She is on Sentinel so its not due to bugs. Any help will be appreciated.Dog, Brittany, has rash and loss of hair under collar. What do you recommend?
I see this a lot at my shelter. Dogs just irritate their skin from the collars. Normally it takes a long time for them to fully recover, and sometimes they get secondary skin infections. Talk to your vet, over the phone, about what you could put on it.
why did you breed a dog with a known skin condition? Just to have the pups have the same problem. How is this improving the breed?Dog, Brittany, has rash and loss of hair under collar. What do you recommend?
sounds like mange.you can get medication that will cure it.
Take the dog to the vet. It sounds like she was allergic to the collar. She may have developed a secondary infection from the irritation. It may be a yeast or bacterial infection. Have a skin scraping done.
I would keep an eye on that harness too.. if a nylon collar irritated her, the nylon harness may do the same.
hi what it sounds like that your pet maybe allergic to the collar leave the collar of your pet for to weeks and see if there is a difference if not get back to me
best of luck,
i'm not sure what that is. this site has home remedies for pets. enter your dog's symptoms and it will provide some at-home tips for treatment. if the issue is more serious it will let you know what it is and how your vet will go about treating it. hope that helps. http://thepounce.blogspot.com
she is allergic to something...allergies take a long time to recover. Take her to the vet to see if they can give you something to make her feel better.
