Dog Dandruff and loss of hair?

My dog has some sort of dandruff on stuck on his skin. When we remove it his hair comes off and it lived a patch without hair and irritated. What could this be? How can we treat it at home?Dog Dandruff and loss of hair?
cheyletiella - walking dandruff is a possibility. This is a mite that can cause hair loss as well as irritation. This mite is highly contagious. Skin allergies, a range of parasites, and infection are all other possibilites. See your vet.Dog Dandruff and loss of hair?
Like humans, dogs can have dry skin, and allergies too. Here are some questions you need to ask your self to try to determine if you need to take him to the vet.

Is he outside alot? He could have an allergy to the grass.

Are fleas bad in your area, Some animals have allergies to fleas (my cat does, she rips out her fur, and has bald spots)

What is the age of the dog?

Something I suggest you do to soothe his skin, would be to get some hot spot ointment for dogs, and apply it on the dry spots on him. Get some brewers yeast, which will help as well. Vitiman E is good for that too.
it can be dermatitis, or in other words, skin allergies. if you take your dog to the vet he/she will get medicated lotion/shampoo to help. i dont really know of any home remedies..
